Bangkok is the most common international offsite pick for Indian teams - visa-free entry, nonstop flights from most metros, and mature MICE infrastructure that works for groups of almost any size. Here is what it actually costs, based on live-checked flight fares and real visa terms, not a rough guess.
A common plan: 60 people, 3 nights, 4★, ex-Delhi comes to around ₹71,766 per person (₹43,05,960 total) - conference-sized groups like this are exactly what Bangkok's venue capacity is built for, though the third night adds real cost since it doesn't share a flight the way the first two do.
Flights ex-Delhi run ₹29,400 round trip, nonstop, 4h 25m in the air. Indian passport holders can enter Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism (the rule in force from 15 September 2026), so there is no visa cost to budget for - a real cost advantage over Gulf and most Southeast Asian destinations, which typically charge a per-person e-visa fee.
October through February is the cool, dry season and the best window for an offsite - outdoor team-building activities and evening events are far more comfortable than the hot months from March to May, or the monsoon stretch from June to September.
Same 40 people, same flights. Only one thing changes in each row:
| Change | Per person | Difference |
|---|---|---|
| 3-star instead of 4 | ₹49,194 | -₹9,234 |
| Baseline: 4-star, 2 nights | ₹58,428 | - |
| 5-star instead of 4 | ₹74,844 | +₹16,416 |
| A third night | ₹71,766 | +₹13,338 |
The comparison worth making is the third night against the hotel downgrade: an extra night costs more than dropping a star would save you - ₹13,338 added against ₹9,234 saved. So you cannot fund a longer trip by booking a cheaper hotel; you would still be ₹4,104 per person short. Nights and standard are separate decisions, and the nights one is the larger of the two.
Bangkok is the default pick, not automatically the cheapest. The same trip, same 40 people, same standard:
| Destination | Per person | Visa |
|---|---|---|
| Kuala Lumpur | ₹54,000 | Visa-free |
| Singapore | ₹54,432 | ₹3,000/person |
| Bangkok | ₹58,428 | Visa-free |
| Phuket | ₹59,076 | Visa-free |
Kuala Lumpur comes in cheaper than Bangkok and is also visa-free for Indian passport holders. Singapore is close on price but carries a per-person visa fee. Phuket costs about the same as Bangkok and is a different kind of trip - beach rather than city, with less conference depth. Bangkok earns its default status on nonstop connectivity and the sheer volume of venues that can take a large group, not on being the lowest number here.
The figures above are a starting point - your actual cost depends on your origin city, exact dates, star rating, and whether you add team-building activities or conference facilities. The free calculator below builds a full line-item budget in under a minute.
